OnePlus has confirmed the launching of its new flagship handset, the OnePlus 5 to be held on 22 June 2017 in India. The online launch event had begun along with the OnePlus 5 pop-up event in few major cities like New York, Berlin, London and others on 20 and 21 June, as posted by OnePlus. The company says that the phone is not just about specifications but its way better than other flagship models in terms of design, camera, battery life and performance.
The launch will be in Mumbai on 22nd June'2017 followed by pop-up events, where fans can purchase this amazing smartphone offline, which will be held in Chennai, New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore for the next two days. The online sale will start on 22nd June'2017 after 4:30 PM on Amazon.

Why wait for OnePlus 5?

The OnePlus 5 will be having 8GB of RAM, Snapdragon 835 processor and a lot more. Recently the flagship was launched in the US and European market with a 6GB/64GB variant in Slate Gray colour. The costs of the phone in those regions were approximately Rs. 31,000 (in the US) and Rs. 35,900 (in Europe). It's another variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage is available in attractive Midnight Black colour, which costs somewhere around Rs. 35,000(in the US) and Rs. 40,000 (in Europe).
The pre-orders have already started in these regions and now it's time to grab the 'killer flagship' from OnePlus Mobile in India. The exact price of OnePlus 5 mobile prices are yet to be confirmed by the official sources, but there are rumours that in India it will cost somewhere around Rs. 32,999 for the 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant, whereas will cost somewhere around Rs. 37,999 for the 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant.
It will be available in either Slate Gray colour or in Midnight Black. It won't be having a Gold variant like OnePlus had for its previous models, Oneplus 3 and OnePlus 3T.

  • It will run on the Oxygen OS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
  • The rear camera will be located in the corner of the phone; it will be a dual camera of 16MP + 20MP.
  • The front camera will be of 16MP with a flash for all selfie lovers
  • It will be powered by 835 Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor along with Adreno 540 GPU
  • There will be two variants 6GB RAM/64GB storage and 8GB RAM/128GB storage
  • It will be having a 3300 mAh battery which can be charged in just 30 minutes.
  • It will support 4G VoLTE as well as provides other connectivity.
  • It willinclude several sensors like Fingerprint sensor, Accelerometer, Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and Gyroscope.
  • It will be having a bottom facing speaker along with three microphones with noise cancellation feature.
The positioning of its camera, logo and its overall design shows resemblance with the Apple iPhone 7, which makes the OnePlus 5 more rumoured phone nowadays. But a closer look also suggests that the OnePlus has taken its new smartphone visual inspiration from OPPO Mobile recently launched R11.
